RJ Mitte, the actor best known for playing Walter “Flynn” White Jr. on the acclaimed television series Breaking Bad, has died at the age of 34, according to a report by TMZ.
TMZ reported that a county official confirmed Mitte died on Monday in Texas. The outlet also reported that he died by suicide, while law enforcement said the death investigation was ongoing.
In a statement shared , Mitte’s representatives expressed sadness over his passing, remembering him as an actor, philanthropist and advocate for disability rights.
“RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter ‘Flynn’ White Jr. on AMC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series Breaking Bad,” the representatives said.
They added that Mitte drew on his own experience living with cerebral palsy to bring authenticity to the character and build a platform focused on disability awareness and inclusion.
Beyond his work in entertainment, Mitte served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, according to his representatives.
Mitte became widely recognised through Breaking Bad, the AMC crime drama that followed chemistry teacher Walter White’s transformation into a drug manufacturer. He appeared in 56 episodes of the series as Walter White Jr., the son of Bryan Cranston’s central character.

His other screen credits included The Oak Room, The Recall and The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!).
Mitte also spoke publicly about representation for disabled performers in Hollywood. In a 2019 encounter with a TMZ photographer, he discussed the need for greater opportunities and visibility for disabled actors in the entertainment industry.
Earlier in October, Mitte was seen spending time with his Breaking Bad co-star Luis Moncada. Social media posts from the encounter showed the two appearing in good spirits.
Mitte was engaged to Kennedy Suarez. TMZ reported that he proposed in 2025 after the couple had been dating for years.
His death marks the loss of an actor whose best-known role brought him international recognition and whose advocacy extended beyond the screen. His representatives highlighted his efforts to promote disability awareness and inclusion alongside his entertainment career.
The investigation into his death was ongoing at the time of TMZ’s report.
