Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from a federal prison in New Jersey to a low-security facility in Pennsylvania, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The 56-year-old music mogul is now being held at Federal Correctional Institution Allenwood Low, near Williamsport, Pennsylvania, following his relocation from FCI Fort Dix. A person familiar with the transfer confirmed the move to The Associated Press on Friday.
Federal prison officials confirmed the transfer but declined to explain why Combs was moved, citing privacy, safety and security considerations.
“Decisions about inmate placement are made by the BOP, and we are not in a position to speak to the circumstances surrounding this transfer,” Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, said.
“Sean remains focused on moving forward, and we hope that his time at the new facility will be productive and without unnecessary disruption.”
The reason for the relocation has not been publicly established.
Transfer Follows Reports About Prison Conditions
Combs’ move comes after reports raised questions about his treatment and conduct while incarcerated at Fort Dix.
NBC News recently reported allegations that the rapper received preferential treatment, including access to contraband Hennessy and massages from fellow inmates. The report also alleged that other prisoners cooked for him, cleaned and made his bed.
According to those reports, Combs allegedly used a contraband cellphone to access social media and nude photographs. Prison officials reportedly placed him in a special housing unit following the allegations.
A person familiar with his incarceration also said officials deducted 41 days of good-conduct credit, moving his projected release date to March 2, 2028.
These claims concern reported prison conduct and disciplinary decisions; they do not establish the reason for his transfer to Pennsylvania.
Bureau of Prisons Rejects Report of Prison Fight
The transfer also follows a separate report by TMZ alleging that Combs sustained injuries during an altercation with another inmate at Fort Dix.
However, the Bureau of Prisons disputed that account when contacted by the AP.
“The story you are referring to is false and did not happen,” the agency said.
The statement directly contradicts the reported account of a fight. Officials have not publicly connected the alleged incident to Combs’ transfer, and the available information does not establish that the two events are related.
Diddy Continues Appeal of Federal Conviction
Combs is serving a four-year-and-two-month federal sentence following his 2025 conviction on prostitution-related transportation charges.
His trial included testimony about alleged violence and sexual encounters described during proceedings as “freak-offs,” a term Combs used for the encounters.
The music mogul is appealing both his conviction and sentence. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in April, but, according to the supplied report, had not issued a ruling.
For now, the Bureau of Prisons has confirmed Combs’ new location but has not disclosed the circumstances behind the transfer. His projected release date remains reported as March 2, 2028, subject to any subsequent changes in his sentence or custody status.
