The Ugandan film industry is mourning the tragic loss of renowned actor Bison Katantazi, affectionately known by his stage name, Captain Ricky, a celebrated member of The Ebonies.
Captain Ricky’s life was tragically cut short after he was fatally shot in Hoima City, where he had traveled to spend the Christmas holidays. The shocking incident occurred in an undisclosed location, leaving fans and colleagues in disbelief.
According to his brother Abby, the family received harrowing news alongside photographs of Captain Ricky’s body late last night.
“Kitalo nnyo! Omuzannyi wa Katemba mu kibiina ki Ebonies, Captain Ricky, nga amatuufu ye Bison Katantazi, akubiddwa amasasi agamutiddewo mu kibuga Hoima,” his brother shared in sorrow.
Details surrounding the shooting remain unclear as investigations by the police are ongoing. Authorities have yet to provide any insights into the circumstances of his death.
Funeral arrangements for the late actor have not been finalized, but updates will be shared as soon as plans are confirmed.
