Bow Wow is getting candid about how losing his virginity as a teenager shaped his views on sex and relationships — and how his lack of a father figure left him navigating young adulthood “in the wild.”
During his recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, the rapper and former child star opened up about having sex for the first time at 15 years old, describing how it created confusion and sparked a deeper conversation about growing up without male guidance.
“My mama said, ‘I’ma know when you get some cause you gonna walk around the house a little different,’” Bow Wow shared with a laugh.
But underneath the humor was a deeper issue. Bow Wow revealed that because he didn’t have a strong bond with his biological father, who struggled with alcoholism, his first experience with sex left him unsure of how to move forward.
“After I lost my virginity, I’m thinking — I don’t know if this is every young man when he lose his virginity — but I’m like, ‘How can I get more?’” he said. “Like, do I ask? I don’t even know how I get it. And that’s not having a father. I’m out here in the wild, OG … I don’t even know how to get to the panties again. I don’t know.”
Life Changed as Fame Grew
Bow Wow explained that things shifted drastically once he became older and started to experience fame, especially around ages 18 and 19, when he had access to Atlanta’s vibrant nightlife and entertainment scene.
“I was able to go out and enjoy Atlanta, and enjoy these beautiful places … that we enjoyed so much,” he recalled. “It changed, you know what I mean? It definitely changed. Big time.”
Esther Baxter Denies Bow Wow’s Claims About Being His “First”
This isn’t the first time Bow Wow has sparked controversy with his claims about his sexual past. In 2012, during a Sway in the Morning interview, Bow stated that his first sexual experience was with model and actress Esther Baxter.
But Baxter was quick to shut that down, firing off a strong denial on Twitter:
“Do I REALLY have to respond to this sht!?! ????” she tweeted. “First… you people believe the SILLIEST shit!!! Lmao! I thought this sht was a joke… but lil homie ACTUALLY said that sh*t!”
“N***a really shot for the stars with that one!!! ???? Couldn’t think of anyone else, huh!?! It’s cool I know times are hard right now but u should’ve at least let me know so we could BOTH benefit.”
