Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, co-founder of the infamous Black Mafia Family (BMF), has officially regained his freedom, marking a significant milestone in a journey that began decades ago. On Friday, December 20, Flenory took to Instagram to share the news with his followers, posting a photo of an official affidavit that confirmed his release.

Southwest T’s Instagram Announcement

In his post, Flenory expressed gratitude for his release, attributing his freedom to prayer and unwavering faith.

“Now It’sfficial! @realbigmeechmom I understand you were excited, so last week you let the cat out the bag,” he began. “It’s been a journey, but prayer and unwavering faith beyond mere human comprehension got us to this point. Never once acted in my own ability nor doing anything to anyone to help myself. So the gloves are off, the gag orders are up, and all the naysayers have to suck it up. #godisgood.”

Flenory had been on home supervision since 2020 after being granted early release due to COVID-19 concerns. His official freedom marks the end of a chapter that began with his incarceration in 2005.

BMF’s Cultural Impact

Founded in 1985 by Terry “Southwest T” and his brother Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, BMF rose to prominence as a drug trafficking and money laundering empire. The brothers later ventured into the world of hip-hop, using their wealth and connections to establish themselves as cultural icons. Their extravagant lifestyle and influence in hip-hop culture cemented their place in history, even as their criminal activities caught the attention of federal authorities.

In 2005, the brothers were indicted under the Continuing Criminal Enterprise Statute and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

50 Cent and Big Meech’s Reunion

Just weeks before this announcement, 50 Cent was spotted with Big Meech, who was recently freed from prison as well. While the details of their collaboration remain under wraps, fans are buzzing with anticipation. 50 Cent, who produces the Starz series BMF, hinted at something big on the horizon, writing, “GreenLight Gang [clapperboard emoji] Ultimate Hustler edition [camera emoji] Camera speed, rolling, and action. BMF BIG MEECH @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

The Legacy of BMF

BMF’s story continues to resonate within hip-hop culture. Their rise, fall, and enduring legacy have been immortalized in music, media, and now television, with the Starz series bringing their tale to a new generation.

As Terry “Southwest T” Flenory begins the next chapter of his life, fans and followers alike are eager to see how he and Big Meech plan to leverage their newfound freedom.
