Galaxy TV presenter and events organizer Mr. Henrie has called out music managers for sabotaging their artists’ careers due to greed and arrogance.

Speaking during a talk show alongside producer Anko Ronie, Mr. Henrie shed light on the challenges many Ugandan artists face, including missed opportunities, underpayment, and stifled creativity.

“There’s so much artists miss out on—gigs, creativity, and opportunities—because of the very people they trust to manage their careers,” he said.

Mr. Henrie revealed that some managers exploit artists by underpaying them. “For example, we may pay UGX 5 million for a performance, but the manager gives the artist only UGX 2 million. The artist remains in the dark because they don’t have access to this information.”

He also accused managers of withholding music demos sent by producers for their artists, stalling creative growth due to arrogance or selfish motives.

“Some of these managers are seen as more important than the artists themselves, yet the artists are the ones with the talent,” Mr. Henrie noted.

He advised artists to assemble professional teams that prioritize their growth or seek assistance from experienced professionals in the industry.
