UNEB Announces 2024 PLE Results Release

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially announced that the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results will be released on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The ceremony will be presided over by the Minister for Education and Sports, Mama Janet K. Museveni, at State House Nakasero.

The announcement, made under the theme “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” highlights significant improvements and a record-breaking increase in candidate registrations.

Increase in Candidate Registrations

In 2024, 798,771 candidates registered for the PLE, a 6.6% increase from the 749,254 candidates registered in 2023. This reflects growing participation in Uganda’s education system and an enhanced focus on educational access.

Improved Performance

During a briefing ahead of the release, UNEB officials shared positive updates with Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) officials.

UNEB Executive Director Mr. Dan N. Odongo noted, “Overall, the performance of candidates in 2024 is better than that of 2023.” This promising development is expected to set a positive tone as schools and parents plan the next academic steps for learners.

How to Access Results

The results release event will be streamed live on UNEB’s social media platforms (@UNEB_UG) and the Ministry of Education and Sports channels starting at 11:00 a.m.

Parents, students, and well-wishers can access the results using the following methods:

Commitment to Security and Integrity

UNEB’s Principal Public Relations Officer, Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, emphasized the importance of maintaining security and accuracy during the results dissemination process. She reassured the public of UNEB’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the examinations and timely release of results.

Anticipation Across the Nation

The release of the 2024 PLE results marks a critical milestone for thousands of learners across Uganda. Parents, schools, and communities eagerly await the announcement, which will shape the next steps in the academic journeys of these young scholars.

With improved performance and an increase in participation, the 2024 PLE results are a testament to the resilience of Uganda’s education system and the dedication of learners, teachers, and stakeholders alike.
