Bianca Censori just gave Instagram users a serious double-take after posting a realistic-looking image of Kanye West’s severed head—but the gruesome prop is part of the rapper’s latest music video.
Censori shared the disturbing-looking photo on Instagram, showing what appears to be Kanye’s detached head sitting on a medical tray. Despite the graphic appearance, the head is fake and was created as a prop for the visual accompanying Kanye and Don Toliver’s collaboration, “OK.”
The prop was designed with gruesome details, including uneven-looking cuts that make the scene appear intentionally unsettling.
Censori is also credited as the director of the “OK” music video, giving her a creative role in the visual that produced the eye-catching prop.
The video takes place inside a morgue, where Kanye and Don Toliver appear as corpses before reanimating and turning against the medical examiners around them.
Censori’s Instagram post was part of a larger collection of behind-the-scenes and promotional images connected to the video. She also shared photos showing Kanye with his head very much attached to his body, alongside Don Toliver and other actors who appear in the visual.
The contrast is hard to miss: one image presents Kanye normally, while another presents an extremely convincing horror-style prop version of his head.
“OK” brings together Kanye and Don Toliver for a visual built around death, resurrection and a morgue setting, with Censori directing the single-shot production.
So while Censori’s Instagram post may initially look like an alarming image of Kanye, there is no real-life injury involved. The severed head is simply one of the more memorable—and unsettling—pieces of the music video’s visual world.
