Chris Brown is finally breaking his silence after fans faced chaotic ticketing issues at his Breezy Bowl concert over the weekend at Truist Park. Several attendees reported hours-long lines only to discover their seats were invalid, leading to frustration, confusion, and in some cases, tears.
On Instagram Wednesday, Brown addressed the situation directly, explaining that this was his first-ever stadium tour.
“I saw the reviews about the difficulty at some venues with the parking, seating, etc… Hope y’all understand this is my first stadium tour so I don’t know if the people in charge of that in the cities realized the capacity I would bring out. This is the first time I’ve ever been in these venues,” he wrote.
He added, “Unfortunately, I’m not in charge of that.”
VIP Fans Left Out of Pocket
The mishaps were particularly devastating for VIP ticket holders. Chad Powell, who purchased three VIP floor tickets at $1,500 each, encountered major problems at the gate.
“His scanner read error, error, error, and it was in red. The guy said, ‘I’m sorry, but your section doesn’t exist anymore,’” Powell told Channel 2’s Cory James.
While Powell eventually got into the show, his new seats were not the ones he paid for, leaving him disappointed.
“We didn’t get what we paid for. It was not the same section, we were not in the same row, not the VIP,” he said.
Other fans weren’t as lucky. Tanisha Renee shared that she never made it inside the stadium and left in tears:
“I didn’t get into the concert that I paid for. I’m going to go back home and hopefully Ticketmaster or whomever makes this right.”
Ticketing Companies Step In
By Sunday morning, Cory James began contacting Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and Brown’s team to resolve complaints. Ticketmaster confirmed that Powell’s refund request has been escalated, and he should expect an answer within three to five days.
The incident has sparked a wider conversation about ticketing logistics at stadium shows, particularly as more artists transition from arenas to larger venues for the first time.
Chris Brown’s Tour: High Hopes, Growing Pains
While Breezy Bowl was meant to mark a major milestone in Brown’s career, the concert issues highlight the challenges of stadium-scale performances. Fans remain eager for answers, especially those who invested in high-priced VIP experiences.
“I understand the frustration,” Brown said. “I love y’all and I want everyone to have a good time.”
