The investigation into Celeste Rivas, the 15-year-old teen found dead in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd, is intensifying. TMZ has learned that LAPD officers conducted an extensive search of the Los Angeles home where D4vd was living, focusing on the possibility that the crime may have occurred inside the residence.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the Scientific Investigation Division spent 12 hours combing the home, using luminol to detect trace amounts of blood.
What is Luminol and Why It Matters
Luminol is a forensic chemical used to detect blood at crime scenes. When it reacts with the iron in hemoglobin, it glows blue in darkened spaces — essentially acting like a black light for blood.
The use of luminol suggests that investigators are probing whether Celeste may have been harmed or killed inside the home before her body ended up in the Tesla parked nearby.
Cops reportedly checked not just floors and surfaces but also sink drains and other hidden areas where blood could have been washed away. Sources say it’s unclear whether any positive results were found.
Collecting Fingerprints and Hair Samples
Investigators didn’t stop with luminol. The home was also swept for fingerprints and hair samples, part of standard procedures to gather any evidence that could tie D4vd to Celeste’s death. Sources have not confirmed whether any of the samples are significant to the ongoing investigation.
The home in question is reportedly rented by D4vd’s manager, Josh Marshall, but the singer had been living there prior to the search.
Evidence Linking D4vd and Celeste
TMZ has previously reported multiple connections between D4vd and Celeste:
- Both share identical “Shhh…” tattoos on their right index fingers.
- Photos and videos show the two interacting online, including livestreams in early 2024.
- Song lyrics and social media posts hint at their relationship, which Celeste’s mother confirmed to police.
The link between Celeste and D4vd prompted LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division to pursue the search, following a tip from her family. Days after the lead was submitted, the body was officially identified as Celeste Rivas.
Tesla at the Center of Investigation
Celeste’s body was found dismembered in a Tesla parked near the LA home, which is registered to D4vd. The proximity of the vehicle to the residence has raised questions about where the teen may have been harmed, making the luminol search a critical part of the investigation.
What’s Next
At this time, no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly named in the case. Law enforcement continues to gather evidence and analyze results from the home search, as well as reviewing digital and social media connections between D4vd and Celeste.
The investigation remains ongoing, and TMZ will continue to bring updates as authorities release new information.
