Eddy Kenzo is done staying silent. The Grammy-nominated star has come out swinging after a group of Ugandan music promoters allegedly declared a ban on his live performances—and he’s not holding back.

“I saw it like everyone else—on social media,” Kenzo told reporters.
“No one informed my team officially. So honestly? I’m not even sure it’s serious.”

With that, the Sitya Loss hitmaker shattered any illusions that he’d be fazed. If anything, he’s more confident than ever—and he’s making one thing very clear: “I won’t stop performing.”

The Drama: Promoters vs Kenzo?

The controversy exploded after claims surfaced online that a group of music promoters had placed an unofficial ban on Kenzo, supposedly blocking him from appearing at events and concerts under their influence.

One of the central names in the story? Abitex Promotions’ boss, Abtex, who many believe spearheaded the decision.

But Kenzo isn’t buying it.

“I think Abtex is just joking about the ban thing,” he laughed.
“How can a promoter just ban me from performing? It makes no sense.”

Kenzo Isn’t Waiting on Anyone

In a strong and composed statement, the Big Talent Entertainment CEO brushed off the ban, saying he’ll keep working—with or without promoters.

“Even right now, I have gigs,” he revealed.
“If they won’t book me, I’ll organize my own shows. Nothing can stop me.”

This isn’t new behavior for Kenzo, who’s known for building his career independently, hustling from the ground up and putting on self-produced concerts that draw massive crowds across Uganda and the diaspora.

Kenzo’s Winning Streak Continues

Despite the drama, Kenzo’s calendar is far from empty. Sources close to his camp confirm that bookings are already in motion, and the singer has multiple performances lined up in the coming weeks.

His energy is focused on the fans, not the fuss.

“Let them do what they want,” he said.
“As for me, I’ll keep moving. I was built for this.”

What’s Behind the Ban?

While no official document or press release has confirmed the ban, speculation online suggests a fallout between Kenzo and some promoters over booking fees, event scheduling, or behind-the-scenes disagreements may have triggered the tension.

Still, many in the industry are questioning the legitimacy of the move, especially since no clear explanation or criteria have been made public.

“How do you ban one of Uganda’s biggest music exports?”
“If anything, we should be protecting and supporting him—not blocking him.”

These are just a few of the voices defending Kenzo across social media, calling the alleged ban petty, unprofessional, and bad for the industry.

🔥 Fans Rally Behind Kenzo

Unsurprisingly, Kenzo Nation came through with the support.

  • “No one can cancel greatness. Keep soaring King Kenzo!”
  • “Let haters talk, the gigs keep coming!”
  • “Promoters should focus on building, not tearing down!”

On X (formerly Twitter), #KenzoForever and #SityaLoss trended for hours as fans reposted clips of Kenzo’s past iconic performances and vowed to support his upcoming shows—whether organized by promoters or not.

A Call to the Industry: Choose Unity Over Politics

Kenzo’s response is more than just personal. It raises deeper questions about the state of Uganda’s entertainment scene, including:

  • Are power struggles between artists and promoters hurting the industry?
  • Should artists rely less on third-party organizers?
  • Is it time for a more transparent, structured booking process?

Kenzo didn’t answer all these questions—but he sparked the conversation, which may lead to long-term changes in how artists operate independently and how promoters engage with stars.

🎤 The Pop Radar Takeaway

Eddy Kenzo has never been one to beg for a seat at the table—he builds his own.

This so-called “ban”? If anything, it’s just added more fuel to the fire. With a loyal fanbase, international respect, and a defiant spirit, Kenzo is showing us all that real talent doesn’t need permission to shine.

🗣️ What Do You Think?

Do you believe the promoters’ “ban” will affect Kenzo’s career?
Or is this a classic case of someone trying to dim a star that shines too bright?
