GloRilla recently opened up about her 30-day fast — and while she embraced clean eating, reading, and hitting the gym, she admits that staying away from alcohol was the real challenge.
In an interview with BET, the Memphis rapper reflected on her month-long journey focused on self-discipline and wellness, which included daily reading, working out three times a week, and completely avoiding nightclubs.
“I’d probably say drinking was the hardest to avoid,” GloRilla said. “I’m not a big drinker — I don’t take shots unless it’s occasionally. I usually just drink margaritas.”
Performing Without a “Drinky Drink” Was Tough
The fast coincided with some of the year’s biggest entertainment events — including All-Star Weekend, the Super Bowl, and a number of performances — making her commitment to sobriety even tougher.
“I had a lot going on,” she shared. “Normally I like to prep myself with a little drinky drink before hitting the stage. But I couldn’t do that.”
Still, she powered through.
“Drinking water is easy. Going to the gym is easy. Reading a book is easy,” she continued. “But when everybody around you is drinking and you’re not, it gets hard. I had a few people doing the fast with me, and that helped.”
“Discipline Shots,” Not a BBL
Midway through her fast, Big Glo gave fans a hilarious update about her progress — and took a moment to shut down the BBL rumors that started swirling online after fans noticed her body transformation.
“I’ve been seeing all the BBL allegations, and I wanna be honest,” she said. “I didn’t get a BBL — but I did get some discipline shots!”
She jokingly pointed to her body and added:
“I got ’em inserted right here and right here. They flow through my brain. Just a few shots of discipline — and that’s how you get a fat ass. But I ain’t get no BBL.”
GloRilla’s Message: Self-Discipline Is the Real Glow-Up
Her 30-day fast not only challenged her willpower but also proved to fans that discipline and consistency can lead to real change — even under the spotlight of fame and temptation.
