Kirk Burrowes, co-founder of Bad Boy Entertainment and its former president, has filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging years of sexual misconduct, coercion, and psychological manipulation. The 18-page complaint, filed in New York on Friday, February 28, claims that Diddy created a toxic and abusive environment during their professional relationship.
Burrowes, represented by attorney Tyrone Blackburn, accuses Diddy of relentless intimidation and boundary-crossing behavior, particularly during professional meetings. The lawsuit details allegations of sexual advances and pressure to comply with inappropriate demands. Burrowes claims that Diddy orchestrated a campaign to seize his 25% stake in Bad Boy Entertainment, using violence, extortion, and financial manipulation.
The lawsuit brings back memories of a similar case from 2003, where Burrowes accused Diddy of using physical threats to force him to surrender his stake in the label. In that instance, Burrowes claimed that Diddy stormed his office wielding a baseball bat and pressured him into signing away his ownership. However, that case was dismissed due to the statute of limitations.
Accusations Against Janice Combs
In addition to the lawsuit against Diddy, Burrowes has also filed a separate complaint against Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs. He alleges that she was an active participant in the scheme to pressure him into relinquishing his 25% stake in Bad Boy. Burrowes claims that her involvement was part of a larger effort to extort his share of the label.
Diddy’s Response to the Lawsuit
In response to these latest accusations, a spokesperson for Diddy dismissed Burrowes’ claims, calling the lawsuit another “frivolous attempt” to re-litigate allegations that have been repeatedly thrown out of court over the years. The spokesperson also criticized the involvement of Tyrone Blackburn, stating that Burrowes and his attorney were wasting the court’s time by re-filing previously dismissed claims. Furthermore, they accused Burrowes of dragging Janice Combs, who is 80 years old, into the case.
