Michael Rainey Jr., best known for his role as Tariq St. Patrick in Power Book II: Ghost, has seemingly sided with 50 Cent in the rapper’s ongoing feud with Lil Meech. The tension between 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, and Lil Meech escalated after the latter’s father, Big Meech, was photographed alongside 50 Cent’s longtime rival, Rick Ross.

Lil Meech stars in 50 Cent’s BMF series on Starz, a dramatization of Big Meech’s reign as the leader of the Black Mafia Family. Meanwhile, Rainey Jr. plays a central role in Power Book II: Ghost, a successful spinoff of 50 Cent’s Power franchise. Given their connections to 50 Cent’s television empire, Rainey Jr.’s recent comments about Lil Meech have drawn considerable attention.

Michael Rainey Jr.’s Blunt Response to Lil Meech’s Situation

In a clip shared by No Jumper on X (formerly Twitter) on March 24, 2025, Rainey Jr. was asked if he felt bad for Lil Meech amid the escalating dispute. His response was dismissive and straightforward:

“Do I feel bad for Lil Meech? I don’t feel bad for no grown man on this planet. I’m a grown man. Why the fk would I feel bad for another grown man? You a grown man too, n*a.”

Rainey Jr.’s remarks came just weeks after 50 Cent congratulated him on winning the NAACP award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in Power Book II: Ghost on February 22, 2025. Praising him on Instagram, 50 Cent wrote:

“@michaelraineyjr won NAACP outstanding actor in a drama series, he is gonna be better [than] all of us. He’s focused, got 2 movies in the can BOOM.”

The Root of 50 Cent’s Feud with Lil Meech

The fallout between 50 Cent and Lil Meech reportedly stems from Big Meech’s association with Rick Ross. Though 50 Cent and Big Meech were once on good terms following Big Meech’s release from prison in 2024, their relationship took a turn for the worse earlier this year when Big Meech was spotted with Rick Ross.

On February 3, 2025, 50 Cent aired his grievances publicly by calling Big Meech a “rat” in an Instagram post. He also alleged that Big Meech’s former business partner and current BMF producer, Tammy Cowin, was preparing to expose him in a tell-all documentary.

Days later, on February 6, 50 Cent posted a series of alleged messages from Lil Meech, in which the young actor expressed frustration over the deteriorating relationship:

“Now u mad at me when I would take the shirt off my back for you. I can’t believe this man. U act as if I’m your enemy. I’ve only showed u love and loyalty. I go thru my own st but I never switched up on u. Fk Rick Ross but he gave my dad some bread so he can afford to pay his bills until our next season starts.”

50 Cent’s cold response, captioned “What next season,” seemed to hint at either canceling BMF or removing Lil Meech from the cast altogether.

The Allegations of Drug Use and Rehab

Weeks later, 50 Cent offered further insight into the feud, alleging that Big Meech had tried to create tension between him and Lil Meech. In a since-deleted post on February 19, 2025, 50 Cent claimed:

“I thought about it. I think he was uncomfortable with me and MeMe’s relationship. I’m telling MeMe I don’t want him doing drugs. He telling him he used to do X like it’s cool. I tell MeMe chill, stop spending all ya money, he telling him how much money he blew.”

The rapper went on to allege that he paid for Lil Meech to enter rehab after the actor reportedly got high and fell ill while filming BMF. He explained:

“People don’t know I had to send MeMe to rehab. Russell Hornsby peeped he was high as fk on set. He started throwing up at a weapons test. Then Ian told me the little had whippets in his truck. I said, ‘What the fk is whippets?’ I look it up—it’s the s**t that be in Bebe guns.”

The Future of BMF Remains Uncertain

BMF wrapped its third season in 2024 and was renewed for a fourth. However, the growing tension between 50 Cent and Lil Meech has cast a shadow over the show’s future. While fans eagerly anticipate the next chapter, it remains unclear if Lil Meech will continue his role or if the series itself might be in jeopardy.

As the feud intensifies, many are left wondering how this falling out will impact not only BMF but also 50 Cent’s broader television empire.
