Lynne Marie Stewart, Iconic Actress from Pee-wee’s Playhouse, American Graffiti, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Dies at 78

Lynne Marie Stewart, the beloved actress known for her unforgettable roles in Pee-wee’s Playhouse, American Graffiti, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, has passed away at the age of 78. TMZ confirmed the news, with Stewart’s manager, Bette Smith, revealing that the actress died unexpectedly at her sister’s California home yesterday afternoon.

Stewart’s death comes just a few months after she was diagnosed with a tumor between her liver and gall bladder in December. Prior to her diagnosis, she had been working on multiple projects, including Ben Stiller’s upcoming film The Dink, and continuing her role on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, where she played Charlie Kelly’s mother, Bonnie.

Smith spoke fondly of Stewart, describing her as “the most talented and funny and most honorable person I have ever known.” Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her and fans around the world.
