Curry Shines in New All-Star Game Format, Clinches MVP as Team OGs Triumphs
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry delivered a memorable performance on home turf, leading Team OGs to a commanding 41-25 victory over Team Global Stars in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday, February 16.
Curry’s dazzling display earned him his second Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP Award, solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest All-Star performers of all time.
“It was one of those little flurries, just having fun,” Curry said in a post-game interview. “The half-court shot, I was going to take one at some point. [Nikola] Jokic was picking me up at half court, which was hilarious.”
A Fresh Take on the All-Star Format
This year’s new format sought to revive competitive spirit by dividing the 12 Eastern and 12 Western Conference All-Stars into three teams of eight, while a fourth team was composed of first- and second-year players who won the Rising Stars Game on Friday.
Coached by Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Kenny Atkinson, with Shaquille O’Neal as general manager, Team OGs dominated the game from start to finish. Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum sealed the win with a powerful dunk, bringing his tally to 15 points.

Team Global Stars, coached by Mark Daigneault with Charles Barkley as GM, struggled to contain Curry, who poured in 12 points in a fast-paced showdown.
“I think it was a good step in the right direction to reinvigorate the game in some way,” Curry commented on the new format.

The action-packed All-Star Weekend featured record-breaking moments:
- Mac McClung made history by winning his third straight Slam Dunk Contest, earning perfect 50 scores on all his attempts.
- Tyler Herro dethroned Damian Lillard in the 3-Point Contest, preventing the latter from securing a three-peat.
Curry Brand Celebrates 20th Court Renovation
Beyond his on-court heroics, Curry made a meaningful impact off the court. His Curry Brand marked a milestone by completing its 20th court refurbishment at McClymonds High School in Oakland, CA—the alma mater of NBA legend Bill Russell.
“Launching the Curry Brand officially in 2020, we set out to make an impact to ensure young athletes have what they need to dream big,” Curry shared. “Today, we celebrate this milestone by honoring McClymonds High School and one of its most illustrious alumni, Bill Russell. Bill wasn’t just a champion—he was a leader, a trailblazer, and someone who used his platform to fight for something bigger than basketball.”
Through his Curry Brand initiative, the four-time NBA champion has renovated 20 courts, trained 15,000 coaches, and supported 125 programs, positively impacting over 300,000 kids worldwide.

For Curry, the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend was not only about winning MVP honors but also about giving back to the Bay Area, where he has played for 16 years.
“Hosting the All-Star events in both Oakland and San Francisco was unbelievable,” Curry said. “This is an honor and a blessing to celebrate and share this beautiful Bay Area and the basketball culture that’s here.”
