Prosecutors Fight to Keep Diddy Behind Bars: “He’s a Violent Criminal”

Sean “Diddy” Combs is fighting for his freedom, but prosecutors are pulling out all the stops to ensure he stays locked up ahead of sentencing—and they’re painting a damning picture of the hip-hop mogul in court.

In newly filed court documents obtained by TMZ, federal prosecutors argue Diddy’s convictions make him too dangerous to be released on bond, labeling him a “violent criminal” and a potential flight risk.

Why Prosecutors Say Diddy Can’t Be Trusted

In their fiery letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, prosecutors laid out their case for keeping Diddy in custody, citing the Bail Reform Act as grounds for mandatory detention.

    Here’s what they’re claiming:

    • ✅ Mann Act violations = crimes of violence: Prosecutors insist Diddy’s two convictions for transporting prostitutes across state lines are legally defined as “crimes of violence” under federal law, making pre-sentencing detention mandatory.
    • ✅ Flight risk: They say Diddy faces a potential 4 to 5-year sentence and argue the weight of these “significant penalties” makes him a flight risk.
    • ✅ A pattern of abuse: Prosecutors claim there’s overwhelming evidence that Diddy engaged in a years-long pattern of violence, coercion, and intimidation, adding that he has repeatedly demonstrated an unwillingness to follow the law.

“Releasing him would only embolden his sense of impunity,” they warn.

    Cassie’s Camp Speaks Out

In a stunning development, the judge also received letters from individuals connected to Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s former partner and one of the most prominent figures in his legal drama.

    • ???? Celebrity stylist Deonte Nash, who testified for the prosecution, wrote:

“Diddy has a well-documented history of violent, coercive, and retaliatory behavior… If he is released now, I have no doubt he will see it as yet another license to continue intimidating, threatening, and harming people who challenge or expose him.”

    • ???? Cassie’s lawyer Douglas Wigdor echoed the fears, saying:

“Cassie believes Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community at large.”

    Diddy’s Defense Fires Back

Diddy’s legal team isn’t backing down. They’re asking the court to release him on $1 million bond, arguing:

    • ???? He’s not a flight risk.
    • ???? He poses no danger to anyone.
    • ???? He won’t engage in any illegal activity if released.

His lawyers insist Diddy wants to focus on reconnecting with his family—not wild nights or controversial antics.

“This is about family time, not freakin’ off,” a defense source told reporters.

What’s Next? The Judge’s Decision Looms

Judge Subramanian is set to issue a ruling on Diddy’s bond request later today around 5 PM ET. Until then, both sides are bracing for a decision that could drastically alter the music mogul’s immediate future.

If denied bail, Diddy will remain in custody until sentencing, where he faces up to 20 years behind bars—though legal experts believe he’s unlikely to serve the maximum.

???? Do you think Diddy should get bail? Or should he stay locked up until sentencing? Drop your take in the comments.
