Lydia Jazmine Says She Rarely Wears Ready-Made Clothes

Ugandan music star Lydia Jazmine is making it clear — when it comes to her style, custom is queen.
During a recent appearance on Galaxy TV, the “Masukka” hitmaker opened up about her fashion choices, revealing she prefers custom-tailored outfits over ready-made clothes, especially when preparing for performances and public appearances.

    “We Need to Stand Out”

Jazmine emphasized the importance of standing out in the highly competitive entertainment industry. She believes that having outfits made specifically for you can elevate your image and make you memorable on stage.

“That’s why for us we need to have designers who can tailor, especially when you’re going for a show or a performance so that you stand out and look different,” she said.

    Rarely Spotted in Ready-Made Fashion

The singer admitted it’s rare for her to wear ready-made clothes. And when she does skip the tailoring process, she still makes sure her outfits are one-of-a-kind.

“Even when I don’t go for tailored options, I have people who source for me unique outfits that are hard to find elsewhere,” she added.

This attention to detail has helped solidify her reputation as one of Uganda’s most stylish performers, with fans regularly praising her red carpet and stage looks.

A Style Philosophy Rooted in Branding

In the entertainment industry, image can be just as important as talent. Jazmine’s approach reflects a broader trend among top artists who see fashion as part of their brand identity.
From Beyoncé to Tiwa Savage, many global stars invest heavily in custom creations that set them apart from the crowd.

For Jazmine, the message is simple: if you want to be remembered, don’t blend in.

    Inspiring Fellow Artists

By sharing her fashion philosophy, Jazmine hopes to inspire other Ugandan entertainers to work closely with local designers.
Not only does this create standout looks, but it also supports the local fashion industry — an important factor in growing creative economies.
