Ice Cube Slams Fans Over Sex Toy Toss at WNBA Games

For the past two weeks, the WNBA has been dealing with a disturbing—and downright bizarre—trend: fans hurling sex toys onto the basketball court during live games. Now, Ice Cube is speaking out, and he’s not mincing words.

The rapper, actor, and BIG3 founder told REAL 92.3 LA that this behavior is far beyond inappropriate and that anyone caught should be immediately banned.

“Somebody doing that, man, should really be kicked up out the building and not allowed back in,” Cube said. “I don’t know what people think they could get out of that.”

Calling it “foul” and “unnecessary,” Cube stressed that no professional athlete should have to deal with such humiliating antics while competing. When asked what he would do if it happened during one of his BIG3 games, the Friday creator didn’t hold back.

“Not only put ’em out, but touch him up a little bit on the way out,” he added. “Let him remember. Let anybody who do some stupid sh*t like this know that it’s going to be consequences and repercussions.”

WNBA Players Say It Makes the League Look Like a “Joke”

Cube isn’t alone in his outrage. Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham spoke on the Show Me Something podcast about how these incidents could damage the league’s image.

“First of all, the bounce that thing had—if that smacked someone in the face, that’s going to be plastered everywhere,” she said. “If that thing came from the rafters or bounced and slapped me in the face, that would be what I’d be known for, for life.”

    Arrest Made After Latest Incident

The most recent episode happened during a Phoenix Mercury vs. Connecticut Sun game, where an 18-year-old named Kaden Lopez allegedly threw a green dildo onto the court. He was arrested and charged.

The WNBA Responds with Harsh Penalties

The league quickly addressed the growing problem, announcing that any fan caught throwing objects onto the court would be “immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban.” Criminal charges are also on the table.

“The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league,” the WNBA’s statement read. “Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans.”

    The Bottom Line

What started as a ridiculous—and dangerous—trend is now a serious security issue. Ice Cube’s blunt warning, coupled with the WNBA’s no-nonsense policy, sends a clear message: the court is no place for stunts like this, and offenders will face real consequences.
