When MGK Day rolled around this year, Cleveland’s own Machine Gun Kelly made sure it wasn’t just another hometown celebration — it became a weekend packed with personal milestones, fan love, and unforgettable surprises.
On Sunday, August 10, the artist, who now goes by MGK, stunned fans and family alike with a moment that went viral within hours: gifting his daughter her dream car.
Casie’s Sweet 16 Surprise
Just weeks after turning 16 in July, MGK’s daughter Casie Baker got the kind of gift every teen dreams about — a shiny black Acura TLX complete with a bright red bow.
In videos lighting up Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, Casie is seen gasping in disbelief as the car pulls up, her jaw dropping before she rushes into her dad’s arms. The joy was pure and contagious.
But before the celebration could get rolling, MGK made sure to drop some dad wisdom.
“What’s the No. 1 rule?” he asked with a knowing grin.
Casie laughed and answered instantly: “Don’t drive like your dad.”
MGK smiled and replied, “Exactly — don’t drive like me.”
Casie isn’t quite road-ready yet — she still needs to pass her driving test — but the car is already waiting for her big first solo drive.
A Surprise for MGK, Too
MGK wasn’t the only one handing out surprises. During halftime of the Celebrity Shootout basketball game earlier in the day, he was presented with a custom guitar featuring his own portrait.
The guitar isn’t just a keepsake — it will be permanently displayed at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, ensuring travelers from around the world get a taste of the city’s rockstar pride.
Closing the Night With Music and Momentum
The celebrations wrapped up on the Mall C lawn with a massive outdoor concert. Thousands of fans gathered to watch MGK debut tracks from his brand-new album Lost Americana, which dropped August 8.
The setlist mixed old favorites with fresh releases, and the energy was electric. MGK made it clear he’s gunning for a third consecutive Billboard 200 No. 1 album, following the success of Tickets to My Downfall and Mainstream Sellout.
More Than Just Music
This year’s MGK Day wasn’t just about performing — it was about connection. Between gifting Casie her dream car, celebrating Cleveland’s love for him, and sharing new music with the people who’ve supported him from the start, MGK managed to make the day feel personal and universal all at once.
It was a reminder that for all the chart-topping hits and sold-out shows, some of MGK’s biggest wins happen offstage.
