New police video shows Michael Lewis, the man convicted of stalking WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, insisting to FBI agents that his behavior was harmless—days before his arrest. TMZ Sports obtained body camera footage captured outside an Indianapolis hotel room on Jan. 8, 2025.

Lewis was under investigation for sending numerous threats and sexually explicit messages to Clark starting Dec. 12, 2024.

    Police Confrontation in Indianapolis

In the clip, FBI agents and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers question Lewis for several minutes about his social media activity.

Lewis claims he’s in Indianapolis for vacation and downplays his online behavior. At one point, he allows authorities to search his hotel room, trying to prove he has no weapons or dangerous items.

Eventually, Lewis admits to directing messages toward Clark, but repeatedly insists:

“It’s just an imaginary relationship. That’s all it is. It doesn’t involve any threats. Just a playful fun thing.”

Authorities warn him multiple times to stop posting about Clark. After he agrees to monitor his internet actions, they leave—but the messages allegedly continued.

    Arrest and Legal Outcome

Lewis was ultimately arrested on Jan. 12, 2025, facing criminal charges. On July 28, 2025, he pleaded guilty to:

    • One felony count of stalking
    • One misdemeanor count of harassment

He was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and ordered to have no contact with Caitlin Clark.

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears commented on the case:

“This resolution ensures that the defendant is held accountable for his threatening actions, the fear he instilled, and the disruption he caused. He will now spend the next two and a half years in the Department of Corrections, and the victim will be able to have peace of mind while focusing on what matters to her.”

Caitlin Clark Can Focus on Her Career

With Lewis behind bars, Caitlin Clark can now focus on her WNBA career without the ongoing threat of harassment. The case underscores the serious consequences of stalking and online threats, sending a message about accountability for such behavior.
