Vince McMahon Seeks Dismissal of Reckless Driving Case

Former WWE chairman Vince McMahon is turning to the courts in an effort to dismiss his reckless driving case, TMZ Sports has learned. The motion was filed Tuesday by McMahon’s attorney, Mark Sherman, and could potentially end the matter entirely — while still allowing the wrestling mogul to express remorse.

    The Motion to Dismiss

Sherman told TMZ Sports that if the motion is granted, it:

    • Ensures a complete dismissal of the case
    • Allows Vince to convey contrition and concern for the other drivers

“His top priority is the safety and well-being of the other drivers involved,” Sherman explained.

A hearing on the motion is scheduled for mid-October.

    The July Crash

McMahon is facing one count of reckless driving and one count of following too closely stemming from a crash on July 24 in Westport, Connecticut.

According to the crash report obtained by TMZ:

    • McMahon’s 2024 Bentley was traveling northbound on Route 15 when it rammed into the back of a 2023 BMW 430
    • The crash caused the Bentley to collide with a median wooden-beam guardrail
    • Debris from the accident involved a Ford Fusion as well

Thankfully, everyone was wearing their seatbelts, and no injuries were reported.

    McMahon’s Response

So far, Vince McMahon has not publicly commented on the incident or the motion. His legal team, however, emphasizes that his priority is showing concern for all parties involved, even as they seek dismissal of the charges.

    What’s Next?

If the court grants the motion, the case could be completely dismissed, potentially allowing McMahon to avoid penalties associated with reckless driving or following too closely.

Otherwise, the mid-October hearing will determine if the case moves forward or gets tossed, keeping fans and the wrestling world on edge.
