Tyrese Admits His “Scary” Body Count: “I Was Doing Too Much”

Tyrese Gibson is no stranger to keeping it real, but his latest confession might be one of his most vulnerable yet. The singer and Fast & Furious star admitted that when it comes to sexual partners, his body count is far higher than he’d like to admit—and he says it almost spiraled out of control.

The revelation came during his sit-down on Kirk Franklin’s Den of Kings podcast, where Tyrese appeared alongside Skyh Black and DJ Montay. In the candid conversation, the actor described his past sexual lifestyle as overwhelming, unhealthy, and fueled by something deeper than just attraction.

“I believe my number is a little scary,” Tyrese confessed. “I got to a point where a powerful man of God asked me a question… ‘Hey, Reese, let me ask you, man. How many more?’”

“Too Many Cities, Too Many States, Too Many Countries”

Tyrese explained that even before that conversation, he had started questioning himself.

“I already had it in my head that I’m doing too much, too often. Too many cities, too many states, too many countries. It’s too much.”

For Tyrese, the endless encounters became less about passion and more about habit—a cycle he says left him unfulfilled.

    Addiction or Deeper Pain?

The Grammy-nominated star admitted he eventually had to ask himself whether his lifestyle reflected an actual sex addiction or whether it was tied to deeper emotional wounds.

“You either a sex addict and you out here just trying to put your weewee in everything and you just losing your damn mind, or it’s coming from something,” he explained.

Tyrese said his endless access to women forced him to consider what was really fueling the desire.

    Facing Hard Truths

The actor admitted that he once convinced himself it would all fade eventually, and that when the attention disappeared, so would the temptation.

“I had convinced myself that at a certain point, it’s going to be over,” Tyrese reflected. “All of this access that I have to all of these women, it’s going to be over soon. It’s going to be another situation where one minute you hot, and the next minute you not.”

    The Bigger Picture

Tyrese’s raw honesty highlights a reality many stars have shared—the downside of fame and access. For him, sex wasn’t just about pleasure; it was about filling a void. Now in a period of self-reflection, he’s acknowledging the emotional cost of living recklessly.

This moment of vulnerability adds another layer to Tyrese’s long history of openness with fans, whether about his music, his personal struggles, or his highly publicized relationships.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Tyrese admitted his body count is “scary” and “too much.”
    • He says his past lifestyle left him questioning whether it was sex addiction or tied to deeper emotional pain.
    • The actor reflected that constant access to women during fame only amplified the cycle.
    • Tyrese says he’s moving toward self-awareness and discipline, putting an end to the lifestyle he once lived.
