Master P Reaches Out to Lil Wayne
Speaking exclusively with TMZ, Master P revealed he’s already contacted Lil Wayne’s management team with hopes of having the rapper perform when UNO tips off its season opener on November 8th.
“I’m bringing some huge talent,” P said. “I reached out to Lil Wayne’s management team, so we’re gonna see how that goes. But if it doesn’t work out [for the opener], we’ve got 11 more home games which we can bring him in.”
The thought of Weezy F. Baby performing in New Orleans for a college basketball crowd has already sent fans into a frenzy online.
J. Cole, NBA YoungBoy, Boosie & More Could Be Next
Lil Wayne isn’t the only name on Master P’s dream list. The coach revealed he’s also planning to hit up J. Cole, a rap star with strong basketball ties who has suited up in professional leagues overseas.

“My coach saved my life and helped change my life,” he explained. “I said I want to pay that back forward and help the next generation, help the kids where I grew up at to find the next P, find the next other successful person that comes from poverty, to let them know that you can make it, we believe in you.”

This season, the coach plans to personally pay for 4,000 middle school students to attend a UNO game, exposing them to both higher education and the inspiration of live sports.
“It’s all about education and the next generation,” P said. “If I could start reaching middle school students and preparing them to go to college, then they’ll further their education, and crime will go down, poverty will go down. We’ll be able to create these diamonds in the rough. They always say a diamond is dirty till you clean it up.”
