Trump Heckled at D.C. Restaurant, Protesters Call Him “Hitler”

President Donald Trump’s dinner plans turned into political theater Monday night, when protesters stormed into an upscale Washington, D.C. restaurant and unleashed chants comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

Trump was dining at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab — just blocks from the White House — alongside Vice President J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth when demonstrators waving Palestinian flags made their way inside.

Protesters Chant: “Trump Is the Hitler of Our Time”

The group broke into chants of:

“Free D.C., free Palestine, Trump is the Hitler of our time.”

The president appeared unbothered, continuing his conversations at the table while ignoring the noise. Video shows Vance leaning over to assure nearby diners to “enjoy their meals,” while Hegseth looked on as protesters caused a scene.

    Cheers and Boos Outside

The chaos wasn’t limited to inside the restaurant. Witnesses say Trump was met with both cheers and boos as he arrived, with his motorcade pulling up to a mixed crowd of supporters and critics.

The scene outside was just as charged, with protesters following the president’s arrival, carrying flags and chanting as Secret Service tried to keep the chaos contained.

    Demonstrators Get Close to Trump

Perhaps most surprising — the protesters managed to get inside Joe’s Seafood, bringing them just feet away from the president. While the Secret Service did not appear rattled, the intrusion raises fresh questions about security around Trump’s public outings as tensions escalate in Washington.

    Trump Shrugs It Off

For his part, Trump didn’t break stride. He kept chatting with fellow diners and flashed occasional smiles, projecting his signature “nothing to see here” bravado.

But the chants comparing him to Hitler are bound to spark major backlash — especially as his administration continues to face heat over its Middle East policies and its handling of protests in D.C.

    The Bigger Picture

    • Trump’s return to public dining spots has drawn increasing attention — supporters view it as a show of strength, while critics see opportunities to confront him.
    • Protests linking Palestine and domestic freedom issues in D.C. are growing louder as the 2026 election cycle ramps up.
    • The heckling underscores the deep political divisions in Washington, where even a steak dinner can turn into a political battlefield.
