NFL Icon Randy Moss Shares Health Update After Cancer Surgery

NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery to treat cancer. On Friday, December 13, Moss took to Instagram Live to provide fans with an update on his health and share his journey. His caption, “Let’s Moss Cancer,” reflects his unwavering determination to defeat the disease.

    Randy Moss Details His Diagnosis

In the livestream, Moss revealed the specifics of his diagnosis:
“I’ve told you all over the last couple of weeks about me battling something internally, and your boy is a cancer survivor,” Moss began.

The football icon explained that doctors found cancer in the bile duct, located between the pancreas and liver. The cancer, he added, was sitting “right outside the bile duct.”

Gratitude for Medical Team and Supporters

Moss expressed deep appreciation for the medical professionals who supported him during this challenging time.
“It was a trying week, a trying time. So once again, I thank you all… Thank you and your team for nursing me back to health and getting me back here with my family,” Moss shared.

A Message to Fans and Colleagues

The NFL legend assured fans that his condition is improving each day. He also addressed his ESPN colleagues and supporters on Sunday NFL Countdown, where he has been a key contributor.
“As soon as I get healthy to get back out with the guys, I will be on set. Hopefully, I can be with you guys soon,” Moss said.

Moss also reflected on the unexpected nature of his diagnosis, saying:
“By the grace of God, my liver started acting up. I didn’t think I would ever be in a position like this, as healthy as I thought I was.”

    ESPN Confirms Moss’ Hiatus

Following Moss’ candid update, ESPN released an official statement announcing his temporary break to focus on his recovery.
“Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss will step away from his Sunday morning pregame show in order to focus on a personal health challenge,” the statement read.
