Nicki Minaj is standing firmly behind her support for President Donald Trump — but she says that does not mean politics will become part of her next tour.
The rapper addressed her relationship with Trump during a Friday appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, where she joined host Laura Ingraham and Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler to discuss the administration’s “Million-Dollar Pitch Competition.”
The conversation soon turned to Minaj’s support for Trump and criticism she has received over her association with his administration.
Asked what she says to critics of the partnership, Minaj responded, “Absolutely nothing.”
She said she is honored to work with the administration and described Trump as smart, fun and grounded. Minaj also said she finds him easy to connect with and believes he makes people feel heard.
“I just love him,” she said.
Despite her support for Trump, Minaj drew a line between her political views and her music career. She agreed with Ingraham that politics do not belong at her concerts, explaining that her shows are intended to be about having fun, making memories and appreciating life rather than lecturing audiences.
That distinction comes as Minaj prepares for her next chapter professionally. She has not announced a specific tour date, but said she plans to return to the road after delivering her next body of work.
For now, Minaj says she is focused on what she calls her “businesswoman era.”
Her appearance also comes as she takes on a role in the Trump administration’s “Million-Dollar Pitch Competition,” an entrepreneur-focused competition in which five businesses will share $1 million. Fox News identified Minaj as one of the judges for the final competition.
While Minaj has made her support for Trump clear, her comments suggest she intends to keep that political relationship separate from the experience she wants to create when she eventually returns to the stage.
