In a filing connected to another lawsuit involving attorney Tony Buzbee, JAY-Z expressed how the allegations severely affected his company’s relationships with other businesses. “Mr. Buzbee’s actions undermined my relationship, and my company Roc Nation’s relationship, with other businesses in the sports and entertainment space,” JAY-Z stated in the filing. “We have agreements to produce entertainment programs for certain sporting events. After Mr. Buzbee filed the lawsuit, the media reported that other businesses could end their deals with Roc Nation, and forced one to speak out and address whether these false allegations would end our business relationship,” he added, specifically referencing the NFL.
According to JAY-Z, the accusations caused Roc Nation to lose other contracts that would have generated substantial revenue, amounting to approximately $20 million annually. He emphasized that this financial setback occurred despite the lawsuit being dismissed without prejudice.
JAY-Z Hails Dismissal as “Victory” Despite Trauma
Though the lawsuit has been dismissed, JAY-Z and his family are still grappling with the emotional fallout. Diddy, who was also named in the lawsuit, celebrated the dismissal alongside JAY-Z.
