Jay-Z is revealing how he discovered the Jane Doe rape accuser allegedly lied about his involvement in a lawsuit and how attorney Tony Buzbee allegedly pushed her to file the claim despite knowing it was false.
In an affidavit filed Wednesday, a private investigator named Charlotte Henderson detailed a meeting with Jane Doe on February 21, 2025, in which the woman reportedly told her that Buzbee pressured her to include Jay-Z in the lawsuit.
Alleged Pressure from Attorney
According to Henderson, Doe claimed that when she first approached Buzbee, she was seeking legal action against Sean “Diddy” Combs for a rape incident in 2000 but was not involved in Jay-Z’s case. Doe said, “Buzbee brought Jay-Z into it” and “pushed me towards going forward with him.”
Despite Doe’s claims that Jay-Z was not involved, Buzbee filed a civil suit accusing both Jay-Z and Diddy of sexual assault. The lawsuit was later dismissed after several media outlets uncovered inconsistencies in Doe’s account.
Accusations of Intimidation
Henderson also noted that during their meeting, which took place a week after the lawsuit dismissal, Doe claimed that Buzbee had told her Jay-Z was threatening her life, leading her to drop the case.
Doe reportedly said four times that Jay-Z never assaulted her, and when asked if she would sign an affidavit to confirm this, she responded, “But how does this help me?”
Investigator’s Independence
Interestingly, Henderson clarified that she was not hired by Jay-Z or his legal team to conduct the investigation, and she did not specify who, if anyone, was funding her work.
Additionally, another private investigator, Ian Pillinger, filed his own affidavit, revealing that Doe had been in a mental health facility just 90 days before Buzbee sent the demand letter to Jay-Z on her behalf.
Jay-Z’s Legal Response
Jay-Z is now suing Buzbee for extortion, and this week he also filed a separate lawsuit against both Buzbee and Jane Doe for malicious prosecution.
In response, Buzbee strongly denied the allegations, stating:
“Each assertion is flat out false and made up. Jane Doe called referring counsel, the Ava Law Group, and alleged she was assaulted by Diddy and Jay-Z before her case was EVER referred to our firm.”
Buzbee insists that documents from Ava Law Group show Jane Doe made the allegations prior to her case being sent to his firm, claiming these papers will prove the falsehood of Jay-Z’s claims.
