The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez is continuing to deal with the aftermath of her death as the legal case against singer D4vd moves through the court system.
Beth Silverman, one of the prosecutors involved in the case, briefly addressed Celeste’s family before a status hearing Tuesday, saying they are doing “as well as possible” under the circumstances.
Silverman did not provide further details about the family’s situation and declined to comment on what justice in the case might ultimately look like.
The short hearing focused mainly on procedural matters as both sides prepare for the next stages of the case.
Court proceedings continue
The status hearing lasted only a few minutes, with discussions centered on legal procedures.
During the hearing, an additional defense attorney was approved to participate at the counsel table.
The judge also addressed concerns regarding whether D4vd would appear in court while shackled, stating that any request on that issue must be submitted through a written motion before the upcoming preliminary hearing.

D4vd faces serious charges
According to prosecutors, D4vd was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains.
The charges came months after Celeste’s body was discovered in a decomposed and dismembered condition inside a Tesla connected to D4vd.
Prosecutors allege that D4vd killed Celeste in April 2025 after she allegedly threatened to expose their relationship and damage his music career.
Those claims are allegations from prosecutors and have not been proven in court.
Authorities have also alleged that investigators found items they say were connected to their investigation, including purchases prosecutors claim included chainsaws, a body bag, and a portable outdoor incinerator.
Prosecutors make additional claims
During an earlier status hearing, prosecutors told the court they had discovered what they described as a “significant amount” of child sexual abuse material on D4vd’s phone.
The information remains part of the prosecution’s case, and the allegations will be addressed through the legal process.
No trial outcome has been reached.
D4vd became known internationally through viral success in music, building a large online following with songs that gained popularity on streaming platforms.
The criminal case has placed the young artist at the center of major public attention as prosecutors and defense attorneys prepare their arguments.
Celeste Rivas’ death has also brought renewed attention to the importance of protecting vulnerable victims and allowing legal proceedings to determine responsibility based on evidence presented in court.

Why It Matters
The case involves serious criminal allegations and a young victim, making each court appearance closely watched by the public.
For Celeste’s family, the legal process represents the path toward accountability and answers following her death.
For the court, the focus remains on evidence, legal procedures, and ensuring both the prosecution and defense have the opportunity to present their cases.
Behind the courtroom filings is a family mourning the loss of a teenager.
While prosecutors continue building their case, Celeste’s loved ones are navigating a painful process that has unfolded publicly.
Silverman’s brief comments offered a small update on the family’s condition while leaving the larger questions to be addressed in court.
The D4vd case remains ongoing, with future hearings expected to determine the next steps in the legal process. Celeste Rivas’ family continues waiting for answers as the case moves forward.
