Rapper Boosie Badazz is facing a new legal battle after a Houston security guard filed a lawsuit accusing him of attacking him with a broken hookah during a nightclub incident.

The lawsuit was filed by Edward Iglehart II, who claims he was working security at the Dome Nightclub in Houston, Texas, on May 24 when the alleged confrontation happened.

The civil case follows Boosie’s earlier arrest connected to the same incident. The rapper has denied wrongdoing through his attorney, saying the situation should be allowed to play out in court.

    Security Guard Details Alleged Incident

According to the lawsuit, Iglehart was hired to provide security in the VIP area during an event where Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr., performed.

Iglehart claims the incident happened near the end of the night while the club was closing.

The security guard alleges that a woman who was in the VIP section with Boosie approached him and asked to enter a restricted area of the nightclub to use a bathroom.

Iglehart says he attempted to direct her to another security guard who would decide whether she could enter the area.

According to his lawsuit, the situation escalated after the woman allegedly became angry and struck him.

    Alleged Hookah Strike

Iglehart claims he grabbed the woman and attempted to escort her away from the restricted area after the confrontation.

He alleges that she fell during the process, and while he was bending down to help her, he was struck with a heavy object.

The security guard claims Boosie was standing over him holding a broken hookah.

Iglehart alleges he suffered heavy bleeding and was taken to a hospital for treatment following the incident.

The allegations in the lawsuit have not been proven in court, and Boosie has not been found liable.

Lawsuit Accuses Boosie of Assault and Defamation

In the lawsuit, Iglehart is accusing Boosie of assault and battery.

He is also alleging defamation, claiming the rapper made false statements about him on social media following the incident.

The security guard is additionally suing 1720 Main Street Entities, the company connected to the nightclub, claiming the venue overserved Boosie and his guests and created an unsafe environment.

The lawsuit seeks damages, though the specific amount requested was not provided in the information available.

    Boosie’s Legal Team Responds

Following Boosie’s arrest in connection with the alleged altercation, his attorney Carl A. Moore said the rapper intends to defend himself.

In a statement, Moore said they planned to “vigorously investigate and defend” Boosie against the allegations.

The attorney also said Boosie was attempting to “defend his female relative” and “deescalate the situation.”

According to previous reports, club owners and promoters told Houston police that the woman involved in the altercation was Boosie’s niece.

    Why It Matters

The lawsuit adds another layer to a case that has already attracted attention because it involves a high-profile entertainer and an alleged nightclub confrontation.

Civil lawsuits can continue separately from criminal investigations, with courts examining evidence and testimony before determining responsibility.

For Boosie, the case represents another legal challenge that could impact his public image and career.

    The Human Angle

For Iglehart, the lawsuit centers on his account of what he says happened while he was doing his job as a security professional.

For Boosie, his legal team maintains that the full circumstances need to be considered before judgments are made.

As the case moves forward, both sides will have the opportunity to present evidence and arguments in court.

The next chapter will depend on how the legal process unfolds and what additional details emerge.
