The 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West says she could see herself working at Starbucks while pursuing her passion for music.
North West may have grown up surrounded by Hollywood fame, but the young rapper says she has a surprisingly ordinary career goal in mind: working at Starbucks.
The 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West opened up about her future during a recent interview with Dazed Digital.
When interviewer Marios Mystidis asked North what career she might pursue if she weren’t making music, basketball wasn’t even on her radar.
Instead, she had a much more unexpected answer.
“I wanna work at, like, Starbucks next year.”
North explained that she believes she will be old enough to get a job soon, adding that she wants to experience what she described as a “regular job.”
“I think I can next year ’cause I’m gonna be 14,” she said. “I think I can. I want to have a regular job, I guess.”
North West Wants a Taste of Normal Life
For someone who has spent her entire life in the spotlight, North’s Starbucks ambitions offer a glimpse into a side of her life far removed from celebrity culture.
She is the daughter of two globally recognized figures and has already developed her own presence in music and fashion. Still, the teenager appears curious about experiencing something much more everyday.
That doesn’t mean North is giving up on music.
Far from it.
She told Dazed Digital that music remains her true passion and described spending time in the recording studio as her idea of a “perfect day.”
So, apparently, Starbucks could be the side quest — while music remains the main mission.
North West’s Music Career Keeps Growing
North has already begun carving out her own identity as a young artist rather than simply being known as Kardashian and West’s daughter.
Her musical ambitions recently reached another level when she was scheduled to co-headline the “Kimokawaii” tour with Molly Santana.
However, the tour was canceled in July for reasons that were not publicly disclosed.
Despite that setback, North’s latest comments suggest she remains focused on music and the creative world.
At the same time, her desire to have a conventional job is a reminder that growing up famous doesn’t necessarily mean wanting every part of life to revolve around fame.
For now, North seems to want both: a microphone, a studio and maybe an apron behind the Starbucks counter.
And honestly, that’s a pretty relatable career plan for a teenager.
