Bebe Rexha has no problem making the first move — and apparently, Drake was recently on the receiving end of her approach.
The singer revealed that she slid into the rapper’s Instagram DMs after his viral 20 v 1 challenge, even introducing herself as his “dream girl.”
Rexha made the admission during an appearance on Angie Martinez’s In Real Life podcast, released Thursday, September 10.
When Martinez asked what type of men she likes, Rexha made it clear she isn’t working from a particularly narrow checklist.
“All shapes, colores, sizes, everything,” she said.
That led Martinez to ask whether Rexha was simply out here shooting her shot — and the singer had a very specific example ready.
“Honestly, I recently slid into Drake’s DMs,” Rexha said.
She explained that she messaged the Canadian superstar after his 20 v 1 challenge, writing, “I’m your dream girl.”
Rexha also made sure Drake knew exactly why she believed she fit the description.
“I’m Albanian, I got a fat ass, I got my own thing going on,” she said.
There was just one problem: Rexha doesn’t know whether Drake actually saw the message.
“I don’t even think he saw it or he saw it and just ignored it,” she admitted.
Either way, Rexha isn’t exactly lacking confidence. She even joked about the high bar set by one of Drake’s most famous rumored romantic connections.
“I feel like anybody who’s dated Rihanna like you can never go up from there,” Rexha said. “She is the baddest.”
Rexha also recalled meeting Drake at an awards show during a period when, according to her, there was “some drama” surrounding the rapper.
She said Drake was surrounded by his crew when she approached him and jokingly called him “Daddy.”
The greeting apparently didn’t land as expected.
Rexha recalled Drake giving her a “dirty” look before his security intervened.
“Do not call him that,” she said the security team told her.
For now, there’s no indication from Rexha that Drake responded to her DM, leaving the status of her latest shot firmly in mystery territory.
But one thing is clear: when Bebe Rexha sees someone she likes, she isn’t necessarily waiting around for him to make the first move.
