LeBron James is stepping into the prediction-market world.
The NBA superstar has announced a new partnership with Polymarket, one of the leading prediction market platforms, according to The Athletic.
James teased the deal in a 60-second video posted to X, where he appears to step off an elevator after pressing a button marked “sports.”
The commercial, captioned “Step inside Polymarket HQ,” features an unusually star-packed lineup, including Eli Manning, Rajon Rondo, Spike Lee, Alexandra Daddario, Emily Ratajkowski and Derek Jeter.
Polymarket also welcomed James to the platform in a post responding to his video.
“Thanks for stopping by our HQ,” the company wrote, adding a goat emoji.

“With football season around the corner, we look forward to tapping into James’ love for the sport and exploring other ways to bring Polymarket to wider audiences,” Polymarket added.
James’ move puts him alongside a growing group of major sports figures getting involved with prediction-market companies. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bryson DeChambeau and Lionel Messi have all endorsed Kalshi, Polymarket’s main competitor.
The partnership arrives during a major transition in James’ own basketball career.
In July 2026, the 41-year-old agreed to a reported two-year, $8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving the Los Angeles Lakers after eight seasons.
The move represents a significant pay cut for James as he enters his record-breaking 24th NBA season. He has described the decision as his “last decision” and said the motivation was not money or family, but another opportunity to compete for a championship.
“This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. And I’m not going for family,” James said. “What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. And I still want to work. I still want to grind and still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship.”
James will now bring that competitive mindset into another arena as he expands his business and entertainment footprint with Polymarket.
With football season approaching, Polymarket clearly sees James’ massive audience and sports credibility as an opportunity to introduce prediction markets to an even wider audience.
For James, meanwhile, the partnership adds another major business move to an already headline-heavy chapter of his career.
