Lil Baby Denies Connection to Teen Deaths After Atlanta Police Link Shootings to His Video Shoot

Lil Baby and his legal team have strongly denied any connection to the tragic deaths of two 13-year-old boys following his music video shoot in Atlanta last year. The rapper addressed the situation in an Instagram Stories post, calling reports of his involvement “fake news.”

“Thanks for all the concerns, please don’t be misinformed by fake news!!” Lil Baby wrote. “I’m overly good.”

Seven Arrests Linked to Fatal Shootings

On Wednesday, February 26, Atlanta police announced that seven individuals had been arrested in connection to the fatal shootings of Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman. The teens were killed in July 2024 during a birthday party, in what authorities now claim was a retaliatory attack linked to a dispute at Lil Baby’s music video shoot two months earlier.

While the rapper’s name was not mentioned during the official press conference, arrest warrants for the seven suspects referenced his May 2024 video shoot in northwest Atlanta as a key factor in the escalating violence.

    Lil Baby’s Lawyers Slam Allegations

Lil Baby’s legal team, consisting of attorneys Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, quickly responded to the claims, calling them “complete and total nonsense.”

“To say that he couldn’t shoot a music video in his hometown, a place that he loves and has continued to uplift, is disgraceful,” they stated. “Even more, the location for a major music video shoot is a decision made by a professional team and is not a decision made by any individual.”

The attorneys further emphasized that the rapper played “no involvement” in the tragic events and condemned the Atlanta Police Department’s handling of the case as “unprofessional, unethical, and shameful.”

Police Accuse Lil Baby of Igniting Gang Violence

During the press conference, Major Ralph Woodluck made strong accusations, implying that Lil Baby’s decision to film in a rival gang territory contributed to the chain of violence that followed.

“Lamont Freeman was allowed to be a 13-year-old for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life. Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults,” Woodluck stated.

He went on to criticize “an Atlanta-based rapper”—a clear reference to Lil Baby—accusing him of making a reckless decision by shooting a video in a dangerous area.

“Cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go over into a rival gang stronghold and shoot a music video in a place that he knew he should not have been,” he added.

Authorities have vowed to hold Lil Baby and anyone associated with the video shoot accountable.

    What’s Next?

While the investigation continues, Lil Baby’s legal team remains firm in denying all allegations, asserting that he had no role in the escalating violence. With seven arrests already made, it remains to be seen whether law enforcement will take further action against the rapper or his team.
