Blueface is facing a copyright infringement lawsuit after a boxing promoter and streaming company accused him of livestreaming Chrisean Rock’s boxing debut to thousands of viewers without authorization.
According to a new federal complaint obtained by TMZ, boxing promoter Skyy Myles and streaming provider BLK Prime Boxing claim Blueface broadcast Chrisean’s fight on his verified Kick channel while the match was being offered as a $29.99 pay-per-view event.
Chrisean faced Ku’Shiyah Williams in her boxing debut and won the bout.
The lawsuit alleges Blueface and music manager Wack 100 joined the rapper’s Kick stream during the fight and broadcast the match for more than an hour. The plaintiffs claim tens of thousands of people watched the unauthorized stream.
The complaint further alleges Blueface told viewers they did not need to purchase the official PPV and could instead watch the fight for free on his stream.
According to the filing, the plaintiffs also contend Blueface acknowledged that he was streaming the fight because of a financial dispute involving Chrisean.
Those allegations are at the center of the copyright case, with Myles and BLK Prime Boxing seeking damages tied to what they say were lost PPV sales, profits and other earnings. They are also asking the court to award their legal fees.
Chrisean’s attorney, Charles Lew, sharply criticized the alleged broadcast.
“In my entire career, I have never seen such a blatant and brazen disregard for copyright.”
Lew added that the alleged stream did more than reproduce the broadcast, claiming Blueface and those involved actively directed viewers away from the official PPV.
The lawsuit now puts Blueface at the center of a legal fight over the alleged unauthorized distribution of a paid sporting broadcast.
Representatives for Blueface had not responded to the request for comment at the time of publication.
