Rod Wave is fueling talk of a major live collaboration with NBA YoungBoy after appearing to tease a stadium run featuring both rappers.
The Florida rapper responded Sunday, September 27, to a post from hip-hop media personality DJ Akademiks, who publicly called for Rod Wave and YoungBoy to tour together.
“A YB x ROD WAVE tour,” Akademiks wrote on X. “Just take my bank account! Matter of fact an album, EP… we need dis!”
Rod Wave’s response was short — but it immediately raised the stakes.
“I told yb we going stadium,” he wrote.
The comment has sparked speculation about whether the two artists could actually be preparing to hit stadiums together. However, no tour dates have been announced, and neither rapper has formally confirmed a stadium tour.
The idea isn’t completely out of left field. Rod Wave and NBA YoungBoy have already collaborated on “Home Ain’t Home,” giving the two artists an existing musical connection that could serve as a foundation for a larger project.
Akademiks’ original post also floated the possibility of something beyond the stage. His call for an album or EP has fans considering what a full collaborative project from the two rappers could look like.
Rod Wave has established himself as a major live performer through multiple successful arena runs, while YoungBoy has maintained a highly dedicated audience and released music at a prolific pace. Bringing those catalogs together for a joint tour would put two of hip-hop’s prominent fan bases under the same roof.
For now, though, the stadium talk comes down to one public pitch from Akademiks and one intriguing response from Rod Wave. The biggest unanswered question is whether YoungBoy has something to say about the idea next.
