Sean “Diddy” Combs could be leaving federal prison earlier than previously projected.
According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records cited in reports, Diddy’s projected release date from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey is now January 21, 2028.
The latest update moves the date up again after it was most recently listed as February 5, 2028. His projected release had previously been listed as February 20 and, earlier in his incarceration, June 2028.
Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts related to transporting people across state lines for prostitution.
A Manhattan federal jury acquitted him of the more serious racketeering and sex-trafficking charges. Combs has denied the allegations against him and has appealed his prostitution-related convictions.
Prosecutors had accused Combs of coercing women into sexual encounters they described as “freak-offs.” Combs has consistently denied wrongdoing related to those allegations.
His time at FCI Fort Dix has also included a reported altercation with another inmate. According to previous reports, the incident resulted in Combs being placed in solitary confinement for a period.
The changing release date has become a recurring part of the story surrounding Diddy’s incarceration, with his projected departure date moving forward several times since he entered federal custody.
Beyond his criminal case, Combs also continues to face civil lawsuits involving allegations of sexual misconduct. He has denied those claims.
For now, the Bureau of Prisons record places his projected release on January 21, 2028 — meaning Diddy could potentially begin the year outside federal prison if the current date remains unchanged.
