R&B singer Jacquees was arrested in South Florida after police found him unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle, with booking records showing multiple criminal charges.
The 32-year-old Atlanta-based singer, whose legal name is Rodriguez Jacquees Broadnax, was taken into custody Sunday morning after the Hollywood Police Department responded to a report of a person passed out inside a vehicle near North 62nd Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard shortly before 8 a.m.
Officers identified Broadnax as the driver when they arrived at the scene.
According to police, Jacquees became combative with first responders while he was being transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Broward County booking records list charges of DUI, battery on a law enforcement officer, firefighter or EMT, and resisting or obstructing an officer without violence.
The circumstances surrounding the DUI allegation remain under investigation, and the charges are allegations rather than findings of guilt.
Early booking information indicated a hold-for-hearing designation. However, Jacquees was no longer listed in the online jail database as of Monday afternoon.
The Florida arrest adds to a history of legal issues involving the singer.
In 2023, Broadnax was arrested in Georgia following an alleged physical altercation at a mall. He faced charges of simple battery and obstruction in that case.
He was also arrested in Atlanta in 2018 after authorities said he was driving 116 mph. A separate traffic-related incident previously occurred in Miami Beach.
Jacquees has also remained in the public eye in recent months because of his personal life and co-parenting relationship with Deiondra Sanders, the daughter of football legend Deion Sanders.
Under Florida law, the “HG” bond designation initially attached to the case generally indicates that a person must remain in custody until appearing before a judge.
Representatives for Jacquees have not publicly issued a formal statement regarding the latest arrest.
For now, the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged DUI and the confrontation with first responders remain part of the ongoing investigation.
