Megyn Kelly is going after Olivia Rodrigo after the pop star publicly backed a former Cornell student involved in a lawsuit alleging sexual assault by seven fraternity members.
Kelly unloaded on Rodrigo during a recent episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” criticizing the Grammy-winning singer for weighing in on the civil case involving the group dubbed the Cornell 7.
Rodrigo had posted her support for Jane Doe, writing, “Shame on Cornell and on every institution who protects rapists and abusers over women. I stand with Jane Doe.”

The former Cornell student filed a civil lawsuit alleging that seven fraternity members gave her ketamine before sexually assaulting her at the Chi Phi fraternity house. The allegations have not been proven in court.
Rodrigo also publicly addressed a separate case involving a Columbia University student who alleged she was raped.
Those statements clearly did not sit well with Kelly.
The conservative commentator told Rodrigo she prefers seeing the singer “in front of a microphone singing your weird little depressing songs” and repeatedly questioned why the pop star was speaking publicly about the cases.
Kelly eventually told Rodrigo to “shut up”, arguing that she did not know what she was talking about.
“It’s better to keep your mouth shut and let people suspect you’re an idiot than to open it and prove them right,” Kelly said, directing the remark at Rodrigo.

Kelly also took aim at Rodrigo’s music and suggested she could scrutinize the singer’s lyrics and messaging aimed at young women.
“Sit down and be quiet … or I’m going to have to start pulling your music and your lyrics and take a deep dive into exactly the kind of messaging that you are pushing on young women,” Kelly said.
Kelly has previously defended the fraternity members involved in the Cornell case, arguing that the media has treated them unfairly.
The clash now puts two very different public voices on opposite sides of a case that has already generated significant attention online and in the media.
Rodrigo’s representative has been contacted for comment. No response had been received at the time of publication.
