Toni Braxton is celebrating 59 — and she’s making it clear she has no intention of toning down her confidence.
The R&B icon marked her birthday Wednesday, October 7, with a glamorous lingerie look on Instagram, using the occasion to embrace her age while reminding fans that she still feels sexy.
“Every fold. Every wrinkle. If it’s up to me … Im still feeling SEXY. Damn near 60 today! Happy Birthday to ME! Libra SZN!” Braxton wrote.
The birthday post quickly drew attention from fans and fellow celebrities, who flooded the comments with birthday wishes and compliments for the Grammy-winning singer.
Among those celebrating Braxton was Tina Knowles, who wrote: “Happy Birthday forever youthful forever beautiful..”
Braxton, born October 7, 1967, has spent more than three decades as one of R&B’s most recognizable voices. Her catalog includes major hits such as “Un-Break My Heart,” “Breathe Again” and “You’re Makin’ Me High.”
But embracing the spotlight on her birthday is hardly new for the singer.
Braxton has previously marked milestone birthdays with glamorous and revealing photoshoots, including her viral “birthday suit” post when she turned 56 and her “Fifty Fine” celebration for her 57th birthday.
This time, her message was just as much about confidence as it was about turning another year older.
