Ugandan singer Joanita Zachariassen has dismissed ongoing rumors suggesting a fallout with fellow singer Sheebah Karungi following their 2021 collaboration on the song You Lied.

For some time, speculation has been circulating that the former Denmark-based Ugandan singer was at odds with Sheebah over what some believed was a lack of promotion for their joint project. However, Zachariassen has come forward to clarify the situation and put the rumors to rest.

    Sheebah Was Very Supportive

While addressing the media, Zachariassen emphasized that Sheebah was actively involved in promoting their song and that her then-manager, Jeff Kiwa, was also highly supportive of the project.

“I always wanted to do a collabo with Sheebah, and at that time, she was with Jeff Kiwa. They liked the idea, and we did the song and the video. She is supportive and pushed the song. I am so grateful for the collaboration, and we are still in touch,” she explained.

Despite Sheebah’s move to Canada to focus on raising her child, Zachariassen maintains that their relationship remains positive, even though they are not in constant communication.

    Joanita’s Plans for the Future

Joanita Zachariassen also revealed that she is putting collaborations on hold for now. Instead, she wants to establish her unique sound in the Ugandan music industry before working with other artists.

“I will wait on the collabos because I want my sound and voice to be heard. I want to build my fanbase to love my sound first, and then we can think of collaborations later on. Uganda has so many talented artists, but I first want my people to embrace me before I work with others,” she said.

This strategic move suggests that Joanita is focused on carving out her own identity in the competitive Ugandan music industry before leveraging collaborations to expand her reach further. With her dedication and a clear vision for her career, fans can expect more individual projects that showcase her unique talent and artistry.

As she continues her musical journey, it remains to be seen how her solo efforts will be received by Ugandan audiences. However, with her commitment to authenticity and artistic growth, Joanita Zachariassen is undoubtedly poised for a promising future in the industry.
