Alien Skin Open to Letting His Children Join Music Industry, But With a Twist

Fangone Forest singer Alien Skin has weighed in on whether he would allow his children to join the music industry, reflecting on his own experiences as an artist.

Unlike some musicians who discourage their children from venturing into music, Alien Skin believes his children should have the freedom to make their own decisions based on the benefits of being a star.

“Their dad is a musician, but my children will decide on their own fate since they see the positives that come with it. What I have to do is only guide them on what to do in music,” he said.

    Encouraging a Different Musical Approach

While Alien Skin is open to his children pursuing music, he suggests they explore a different approach to expand their reach.

“Since I sing in Luganda, what I can add to my child is telling them to sing in English or Kiswahili to broaden our legacy.”

He also reflected on the advice he received early in his career, where people urged him to avoid industry chaos and rivalry. Despite that, he proudly states that he has established himself as a full-fledged artist.

Demand for Respect in the Industry

Alien Skin further emphasized that he deserves respect for making it in the industry without any family connections in music.

“You have to respect my name since I joined the music industry without a relative doing music because music is talent.”

Having built a name for himself from the ground up, Alien Skin remains confident in his journey and looks forward to shaping the future of Ugandan music—whether through his own career or by mentoring the next generation.
