Xavier Worthy, the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, is facing serious allegations of domestic violence from his fiancée, Tia Jones, who has accused him of physically assaulting her on multiple occasions in a newly filed protective order application.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Jones—who got engaged to Worthy in July 2024—claims that the NFL star choked, beat, and slammed her on at least five different occasions in the past year.

    Series of Alleged Violent Incidents

Jones detailed several disturbing incidents in the legal filing, starting in October 2024, when she says Worthy pushed her to the ground following an argument about comments made by his mother.

A few weeks later, around Christmas time, Jones claims Worthy’s violence escalated when he allegedly slammed her onto a bed and choked her after she confronted him about cheating allegations.

“He knew about my history of abuse in past relationships, so I was horrified that he would do that,” Jones stated in the filing.

She alleges that when she protested, Worthy became even angrier, charging at her, throwing her to the ground, and causing a swollen and bloody toe.

In another alleged attack, Jones says that while arguing in a closet, Worthy grabbed her by the throat, shook her, and threw her head back, which caused her face to hit the closet door, chipping her bottom tooth.

By Valentine’s Day 2025, tensions between the two had allegedly worsened. Jones claims that during another dispute over his infidelity, Worthy grabbed her throat with both hands, squeezed, and shook her before pushing her away.

March 7 Incident Leads to Worthy’s Arrest

The most violent alleged altercation occurred on March 7, 2025, when Jones says Worthy attacked her over an argument about his new dog.

According to her, she called him a ‘bitch,’ which enraged him. He then allegedly picked her up, slammed her against the wall, and screamed at her to get out.

As she tried to escape, she claims Worthy choked her, lifted her off the ground, and slammed her to the floor so violently that her vision became blurry.

She says Worthy continued to attack her, allegedly throwing her around, choking her, and slamming her onto the ground multiple times. At one point, she claims he put his right knee on her throat for more than 10 seconds, making her feel like she was going to die.

When the attack ended, Worthy allegedly locked her out of their home and let her dog out as well. Jones says she waited in her car for police to arrive.

Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and arrested Worthy, booking him on one charge of assaulting a family/household member while impeding breath/circulation.

    Prosecutors Decline to Press Charges

Despite the arrest, the district attorney’s office later declined to pursue the case, citing a lack of sufficient evidence after further investigation.

Worthy’s attorneys, Chip Lewis and Sam Bassett, released a statement denying all allegations:

“Mr. Worthy maintains his innocence and stands by the conclusions of the District Attorney after law enforcement’s review of Ms. Jones’ unfounded allegations.”

Protective Order Granted, Chiefs ‘Gathering Information’

A Williamson County judge granted Jones a temporary protective order against Worthy on Wednesday, preventing him from contacting her.

The Kansas City Chiefs have acknowledged the situation but have yet to make a formal decision regarding Worthy’s status with the team.

“We are aware of the situation and are gathering more information,” the Chiefs stated.

The case remains under close scrutiny, with potential implications for Worthy’s NFL career and legal future.
