Kodak Black has addressed recent concerns over his health following comparisons to the late DMX. During an Instagram Live session, a fan questioned his drug use and drew parallels between him and the iconic rapper, who tragically passed away in 2021 after struggles with addiction.

Kodak, visibly frustrated, swiftly responded: “Man, shut the fck up. Definitely ain’t going out like DMX,” the rapper fired back. He clarified his stance by acknowledging DMX’s legendary status, saying, “He a legend, though. Btch I’d rather go out like DMX than go out like… [laughs] The f*ck? Is you dumb?” Kodak also revealed that he often relates to DMX’s struggles, admitting, “I do be feeling like DMX though a lot of the time.”

Acknowledging the Advice: Gillie Da King and Wallo’s Encouragement

Kodak’s comments come amid a wave of public concern for his well-being. In past conversations, podcast hosts Gillie Da King and Wallo have shared their heartfelt advice with the rapper, urging him to reflect on his influence and responsibilities, especially as a role model to younger audiences.

“There are going to be times when you doubt yourself or feel pain, but those babies are counting on you. You’ve got to be here,” Wallo told Kodak. The hosts emphasized the weight of his success and the impact it has on others, stressing the importance of changing the narrative and being mindful of his actions.

“We’ve got to learn to change the narrative. A lot of young people are watching you,” Wallo added, reminding Kodak of the influence he has over his fanbase.

The Ongoing Struggles: A Call for Change

Kodak Black’s recent remarks highlight the tension between acknowledging personal struggles and embracing responsibility. While he maintains his defiance in the face of comparison to DMX, his ongoing journey reveals the complexities of balancing fame, health, and the expectations placed upon public figures.

As Kodak continues to navigate his career and personal challenges, the public will undoubtedly continue to keep a close eye on his progress and the changes he decides to make, both for himself and the young fans who look up to him.
