Soulja Boy is facing significant financial consequences after a Los Angeles jury found him liable in a sexual assault lawsuit filed by his former personal assistant. On Thursday, a judge read the verdict in court, confirming that the “Crank Dat” rapper would be responsible for paying millions of dollars in damages to his ex-assistant, who accused him of assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The jury’s decision has left Soulja Boy with a hefty financial burden, ordering him to pay $1.5 million for the sexual battery claims alone. Additionally, he’s been slapped with a $1.325 million judgment for the intentional infliction of emotional distress. The total damages currently stand at $2.825 million, with the jury still deliberating on potential punitive damages, which could further increase his financial liability.

The lawsuit, which was filed under the pseudonym Jane Doe, stems from allegations made by the woman regarding the mistreatment she endured while working for Soulja Boy between 2019 and 2020. Despite her seeking a much higher sum of $73.5 million in damages, the jury’s verdict reflects a significant financial blow to the rapper.

Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, has faced legal troubles in the past, but this latest ruling marks a particularly costly chapter in his ongoing legal issues. As the case continues to unfold, it remains to be seen if further developments or additional punitive measures will come into play, adding even more pressure to the rapper’s finances.

The ruling also highlights the seriousness of allegations in the entertainment industry, especially as high-profile cases like this one continue to make waves in the public eye. Soulja Boy’s legal team has yet to comment on the verdict or any potential plans for an appeal.
