Abba Marcus Opens Up About Jose Chameleone’s Health, Thanks Supporters for Rallying Behind His Call for Help

Abba Marcus Mayanja, the 19-year-old son of iconic Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone, has taken to social media to express gratitude to the public for responding to his emotional plea for help regarding his father’s health. The heartfelt message comes days after Abba posted a video accusing his family of neglecting Chameleone, who is currently hospitalized due to acute pancreatitis—a condition reportedly exacerbated by excessive alcohol consumption.

The video, which quickly went viral, drew mixed reactions online. While some criticized Abba for exposing private family matters on a public platform, a significant number of netizens applauded his bravery for speaking out against a vice that could have worsened his father’s condition if left unchecked.

Abba Marcus Speaks Out

In his latest update, Abba expressed relief that his call for help had sparked positive change and brought much-needed attention to his father’s situation.

“I woke up and checked how much attention my post had gathered. When I opened my comment section, it reflected nothing but love and concern. I’m happy to see that contrary to what people believe, others see how much I love and respect my father and wish nothing but the best for him,” Abba shared.

He confirmed that Chameleone is now receiving the necessary medical attention, though he noted that the journey to full recovery is ongoing.

“My father is getting the help he needs; we are not quite there yet, but we are making big steps towards it. This shows how much power Ugandans have on their hands. You may not know it yet, but you may be saving my father’s life,” he added.

Rubbishing Claims of Malice

Addressing critics who accused him of using the video to embarrass his father, Abba clarified his intentions, emphasizing the deep respect and admiration he has for Chameleone.

“As a son, my father has been a hero since I was a child. I have always looked up to him and wanted to be like him for as long as I can remember. All these concerns that I aired are my own, and I thank people for supporting my cause,” Abba said.

He dismissed claims of malice, stating that his focus was on ensuring his father’s well-being, regardless of the negative comments directed his way.

“For the people who misunderstood my message and comprehended it negatively, I would like you to know that I care the least about what you have to say,” he added.

A Call for Continued Support

Abba concluded by thanking Ugandans for their overwhelming support and hinted at recording a YouTube video to provide more details about the incident. His message serves as a reminder of the power of collective action in addressing health challenges and supporting loved ones during difficult times.
