Kendrick Lamar has solidified his place in music history by achieving a groundbreaking feat. On April 26, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, during his Grand National Tour with SZA, Lamar set a record for the highest-grossing single-night performance by a Black male artist. The performance generated an astounding $11.822 million in one night, surpassing the previous record of $9.8 million set by The Weeknd at SoFi Stadium in 2022.

This achievement marks another milestone in Lamar’s illustrious career, where he continues to push boundaries and set new standards in the music industry. The tour itself has been a commercial juggernaut, bringing in massive ticket sales and high-profile performances, with Lamar and SZA proving themselves as a dynamic duo both on stage and on the charts.

“Luther” Breaks Records on the Billboard Hot 100

Lamar and SZA’s collaboration doesn’t stop at live performances. Their single, “Luther,” has taken the Billboard Hot 100 by storm, claiming the No. 1 spot for 11 consecutive weeks. This achievement mirrors the historic success of Diddy and Faith Evans’ 1997 hit, “I’ll Be Missing You,” setting a new standard for male-female duets. With this run, “Luther” becomes the longest-leading No. 1 hit of both Lamar and SZA’s careers, solidifying their dominance in the music world.

    Grand National Tour Shatters Records

The Grand National Tour has been a game-changer, with Lamar breaking records from the very start. On its opening night in Minneapolis, the tour brought in over $9.1 million, making it the highest-grossing rap show ever, surpassing Eminem’s 2019 concert in Melbourne. The show, which attracted over 47,000 fans and boasted an average ticket price of $192.70, set a new bar for rap concerts, proving that hip-hop can achieve commercial success on an unprecedented scale.

Kendrick Lamar Returns to Australia for Spilt Milk Festival

Kendrick Lamar will headline the Spilt Milk Festival’s return this December in Australia, following a year-long hiatus. The festival, set to take place during the Australian summer, will feature stops in Ballarat/Wadawurrung, Perth/Whadjuk, Canberra/Ngunnawal, and the Gold Coast/Kombumerri. Alongside Lamar, the festival will feature stars from Top Dawg Entertainment like Doechii and ScHoolboy Q, as well as breakout talents like Dominic Fike (Euphoria), Nessa Barrett, and rising artist d4vd.

The festival kicks off on December 6 and wraps up on December 14. With Lamar continuing to redefine live music experiences and dominate the charts, fans can’t wait to see what he has in store next.
