UNLV Football Player Ben Christman’s Cause of Death Revealed — 21-Year-Old Died of Cardiac Condition

Las Vegas, NV — Tragic details have emerged surrounding the death of Ben Christman, the 21-year-old UNLV football player who passed away earlier this year. According to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner, Christman died from cardiac arrhythmia and cardiomyopathy, confirming the cause as natural.

    Medical Findings

The medical report revealed that Christman had been suffering from cardiac arrhythmia, a condition characterized by irregular heartbeats, and cardiomyopathy, a disease that affects the heart muscle and can lead to heart failure. These conditions can often go undetected until it’s too late — even in young, seemingly healthy athletes.

    The Timeline of Events

Christman reportedly experienced chest pains during practice on February 10. A teammate later returned to check on him after he missed a scheduled workout — only to discover the young offensive lineman unresponsive in his bedroom, lying on his back, foaming at the mouth, and with purple fingers, signs indicating he had been deceased for several hours.

A UNLV coach had previously performed an EKG on Christman at the university’s athletic facility after hearing of the chest pain complaints. A cardiologist who reviewed the test results reportedly stated they “looked normal,” according to police.

    No Foul Play Suspected

Police found no evidence of drugs, weapons, or foul play in Christman’s dorm room, which was described as clean and orderly. No suspicious substances or medications were discovered at the scene.

    A Promising Career Cut Short

Ben Christman was a four-star recruit in the class of 2021 and had previously played at Ohio State and Kentucky before transferring to UNLV in December. His football talent, work ethic, and leadership had made him a valued part of every team he joined.

    Remembering Ben Christman

Christman’s passing has sent shockwaves through the UNLV community and the broader college football world. Teammates, coaches, and fans continue to mourn the loss of a young man whose future in the sport — and in life — held so much promise.

Rest in peace, Ben Christman. Your spirit will forever remain part of the game.
