Crypto King of Kentucky Blew $100K at Exclusive NYC Sex Club Before Shocking Torture Arrest

The man dubbed the “Crypto King of Kentucky,” John Woeltz, who is currently facing serious charges for allegedly torturing another man in a lavish New York City townhouse, reportedly spent tens of thousands of dollars at one of Manhattan’s most secretive and erotic clubs—The Box.

Sources close to the investigation tell TMZ that Woeltz and his alleged accomplice, Swiss businessman William Duplessie, became regulars at The Box starting in February. On some nights, they allegedly spent between $80,000 and $100,000 during their wild outings.

The Box is known for its risqué blend of music, theater, burlesque, and adult-themed performances, including private peep shows. Both John and William allegedly frequented the club multiple days in a row while residing at the ultra-luxurious Aman New York hotel.

    Wild Nights and Bizarre Behavior

According to insiders, Duplessie had a peculiar habit of going shirtless inside the club. He reportedly believed he looked more intimidating that way and even claimed that wearing a shirt would make people take him less seriously.

His go-to drinks? Don Julio 1942 tequila and Champagne—drunk straight from the bottle, according to witnesses.

Eventually, the pair moved into The Mercer Hotel before settling into a multimillion-dollar SoHo townhouse. That’s where, according to police, they allegedly tortured 39-year-old Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan for weeks in a brutal attempt to access his cryptocurrency fortune.

    High-End Parties With High-Profile Guests

Sources say Woeltz and Duplessie lived an extravagant and reckless lifestyle, often hosting private afterparties with models from top agencies like IMG and Wilhelmina. They even hired party promoters to ensure a steady stream of glamorous guests.

Despite their flashy lifestyle, law enforcement sources say it was all a facade—one that came crashing down when Carturan escaped from the townhouse and alerted authorities.

    Arrests and Shocking Charges

Woeltz was arrested last Friday wearing only a bathrobe. He now faces a slew of felony charges, including:

    • Assault
    • Kidnapping
    • Unlawful imprisonment
    • Weapons possession

Duplessie surrendered to police on Tuesday and is facing similar charges. Sources have compared him to Anna Delvey, the notorious fake heiress who scammed New York’s elite.

Carturan’s shocking escape exposed a horrifying ordeal behind closed doors in one of Manhattan’s most luxurious neighborhoods—one fueled by greed, deception, and an obsession with crypto wealth.
